His journal posts

Bush makes it easier to declare martial law.

Are there any Bush supporters left on OKC? Read this journal entry and tell me if you can see the way the wind is blowing, if you approve, and why.

It turns out the same day that he signed the abominable Military Commissions Act into law, Bush also signed the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, which removes limitations on the circumstances under which the President can declare martial law in the states.

You combine this with the MCA, the National Security Surveillance Act, and the recent administration admission that detainees are being tortured and I am quickly becoming much more afraid of my government that I've ever been of terrorists.

Those of you who are opposed to the way Bush is doing things, I implore you to not wait until 2008 for the problem to "fix itself". Find out if there's an incumbent congressperson for your district running for office and check out their voting record to see if they are supporting the atrocious assault on our liberties and the Constitution. Find out where the candidates stand and vote your conscious, so by 2084 it doesn't look like 1984.

An image of CaptCaptialist Dude! Thanks for the voting record link- I had no idea such a thing existed. On topic though, I've had no cause to disagree with you- at all. In fact I find it hard to believe you have no college education given the way you organize your arguements. If you ever decided to go, you could totally skate. Anyway, this is a real fine Journal. You get my stamp of approval- for what it's worth.

An image of Slepneir No problem, just trying to do my part, for what little it may be worth.

I do appreciate the compliment, though. I think I might do well in college and I hope to be enrolled next semester, but I still don't know what I'd want to pursue. I have an obvious interest in politics, but I think I might be either too idealistic or too cynical to make a happy and semi-prosperous career of it.

I just realized that I spelled "conscience" as "conscious", blah.
