I am myself, satirical, and modest.

My Self-Summary

I'm a 25 year old American computer programmer, traveling the world, currently finding myself in Amsterdam. I'm 100% geek. I love computers, music, astronomy, good beer, conversation, and my friends.

What I’m doing with my life

Traveling the world. Meeting people. Learning things. Enjoying life.

I’m really good at

Quite good at cutting myself while shaving, I learned today.

Making a fool of myself while attempting any of the following: Dancing, karaoke, playing billiards, attempting anything athletic, etc.

Speaking in short/non-complete sentences while filling out online profiles.

The first things people usually notice about me

My telepathy/mind-reading skills aren't great, so I'd really need to ask somebody this, minutes after we first meet, which might be terribly awkward and thus skew their initial impression of me.

It'd be completely unfair, and rather presumptuous and egotistical of me, to say what others first notice about me. I could say what I'd like people to first notice about me (you know, that I'm absolutely adorable, charming, smart, funny), but that's not really the question here.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books/Authors: Carl Sagan (Cosmos, Contact, etc), Chuck Palahniuk, George Orwell (1984, Animal Farm, etc), A World Lit Only by Fire, A History of Modern Europe, The Universe in a Nutshell, Brian Greene, A Brief History of Time, anything by insane pseudo-archaeologists (Graham Hancock, Zecharia Sitchin, etc. always good for a laugh), etc...

Movies: Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, War Games, Sneakers, Office Space, X-Files, South Park, Contact, Fletch, The Goonies, Cube, The Wicker Man, A Clockwork Orange, Die Hard, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Ronin, The Score, Back to the Future, Animal House, Austin Powers, Blazzing Saddles, Space Balls, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Happy Gilmore, Clerks, Mall Rats, Full Metal Jacket, Catch Me If You Can, Kalifornia, Snatch, American History X

Music: Die Toten Hosen, Fischerspooner, Bob Dylan, Queen, OOMPH!, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Nine Inch Nails, NOFX, Bill Hicks, Rammstein, Wir sind Helden, Benabar, KMFDM, George Carlin, Rancid, Bohse Onkelz, Mano Negra, The Cardigans, Rilo Kiley, Bombes 2 Bal, Violent Femmes, Scala And Kolacny Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, Marilyn Manson, Ani DiFranco, Pink Martini, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Supermen Lovers, The Academy of Ancient Music, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cesaria Evora, Esquivel, Kraftwerk, Badly Drawn Boy, Guttermouth, System of a Down, Black Box Recorder, Jeanne Cherhal, Morcheeba, Rage Against the Machine, The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Rainhard Fendrich, Flogging Molly, Sex Pistols, and a few hundred more...

Foods: Pasta. Sandwiches. Meat. Pizza. Soup. Asian food. Mexican food.

The six things I could never do without

Music. Independent thought. Friends. A computer. A couple of other things I can't think of now, but the moment I'm deprived of them I'll know and thus be able to complete this entry?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics. Astronomy. Philosophy. Sciences. History. And pretty much, everything else.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either working (only drawback to telecommuting is the time zone difference back to the States), or enjoying a beer (or 10) with friends -- where we are doesn't matter (bar/restaurant/billiards hall/home), so long as I'm with good company.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not a private person - Ask a question, get an answer.
