I love music and ideas.
I love challenge and growth.
I've just finished my
PhD and started a company called Fruition
Technology where I contract myself out to do
research on cool
geeky projects.
I like to
read alot,
but find I rarely have the time to read as much as I want (my
reading list is getting ridiculous).
I want to also spend more time creating
music. I
DJ under the name Jetpilot (
http://jetpilotdj.com ) and now I've been doing it a couple of
years, I'm getting regular and bigger gigs. I'm trying to move into
live electronic composition though, as just mixed song after song
is getting less exciting then it used to be.
I used to do
Kung
Fu and
gymnastics, I want to get back into
both. I also used to be a bit of a gym bunny, but my current living
situation has made that difficult. Suffice to say, I like to keep
fit. It keeps me sane when I get stressed at all the cool things
I'm trying to pack into my life.
One of my research projects is trying to develop an Artificial
Sentience (I don't say Artificial Intelligence because that term is
overused for things that are not conscious) - the two reasons I
want to do this are a) to understand our own consciousness,
intelligence and existance, and b) because it hasn't been done and
most people tend to think it is impossible. I guess I just like
hard problems.

I used to have an intense irrational fear of Danger mouse when I
was a kid.
You are interested in discussing
interesting things, you can
dance, you like
wit, and you are not
paralysingly cynical, psychotic, or serious... although a little of
each is okay ;)
I also don't believe in many conventional forms of romance.
Diamonds are often from an evil source, gold is often disruptive to
ecosystems and personally I think it's ugly (unless it's white
gold). I don't believe love necessitates marriage, I'd prefer to
stay with someone because we both WANT to, not because we have some
legal or religious symbol binding us.
Having said all that, I'm also hopelessly romantic about the little
things that are often taken for granted. Random gifts win.
